Allen Preclinical Consultants GmbH was founded in February 2002 by Tom and Pam Allen to provide a range of preclinical outsourcing opportunities to the pharmaceutical industry.

Tom Allen is a Director of Allen Preclinical Consultants GmbH. His career has spanned more than 25 years with European CRO and pharmaceutical companies, most recently with RCC Ltd in Switzerland, where he was a member of the Executive Committee and for many years Director of Toxicology. Tom has an Honours degree in Zoology and Physiology from the University of Sheffield, England and is a Diplomate of the Royal College of Pathologists and a European Registered Toxicologist. He is a member of the US Society of Toxicology, the British Toxicology Society, the Institute of Biology and the Swiss Society of Pharmacology and Toxicology.

Pam Allen is a Director of Allen Preclinical Consultants GmbH and a recognised expert in reproductive toxicology. Her career also spans more than 25 years, initially with the CRO, Huntingdon Research Centre and later with the pharmaceutical companies, Beechams Research and SmithKline & French. In 1987, she moved to Switzerland to work for RCC Ltd and became an independent consultant in 1992. As a consultant, she has worked principally for the pharmaceutical industry but also for consortia and CROs. She has a combined Honours degree in Botany and Zoology from the University of Manchester, England and is a European Registered Toxicologist. She is a member of the European Teratology Society, the British Toxicology Society, the Institute of Biology and the Swiss Society of Pharmacology and Toxicology.
